The IT Management Program is designed to help IT managers develop their leadership skills and business acumen, and effectively manage teams, projects, and processes to deliver superior value. The IT Management core curriculum consists of five modules that cover the fundamentals of successfully managing IT professionals.
This program is designed for IT managers in the central IT function, and distributed IT areas, as well as managers in other functional areas with IT interface responsibilities. Typical participants are high potential IT specialists who are moving into leadership roles that require them to manage teams, personnel, vendors, and relationships, while delivering effective business solutions to their internal and external clients. The program is also suitable for other managers who need to develop a better understanding of the role of IT in the enterprise.
Developing an IT Strategic Plan
This module focuses on developing an IT Strategic Plan, what specific components it should include, as well as tips for successful implementation.
Developing a Business Case for IT
This module will focus on developing a business case for IT implementation and development and to gain the buy-in of other company leaders to invest in developing a competitive IT infrastructure.
IT Governance and Project Management
This module will explore the project management aspect of rolling out new IT initiatives.
Understand, remember and explain fundamental project management concepts
Managing IT Operations and Risks
In this module, focus is placed on the risks that are involved with implementing new IT systems and tools for mitigating those risks.
Managing Outsourced Relationships
Managing third-party vendors and consultants hired to assist with IT implementation will be the focus of the final module.
