Logistics Management improves the efficiency of each department within a business by streamlining its operations and costs and therefore increasing its profitability. The programme in Logistics Management Strategies covers all aspects of strategic logistics management: From theories to strategies and operational guidelines, emphasizing the impact of this discipline on customer service, transportation, warehousing, order processing, purchasing, importing and exporting.
Logistics managers encounter a variety of decision problems in dealing with the flow of materials through the entire supply chain. In this course, we will study the logistics planning and control process. We will focus on the following tasks: transportation management, facility location, procurement, and distribution management. A firm’s logistical competency depends on the level of coordination in the management of these functional areas. There is an increasing trend in many industries toward international diversification of operations. Thus, we will emphasize the challenges of managing of logistics operations in global companies. The teaching method is a combination of lectures and class discussions.
